A 1948 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Ghost of Frankenstein, the 1942 Erle C. Kenton Universal monster horror thriller sequel ("New Thrills as the monster stalks again!"; "Original Story, Eric Taylor"; the fourth Universal Frankenstein movie after the three 1930s classics; in this entry, Bela Lugosi as Ygor resurrects the Frankenstein monster and takes him to the doctor's son and they must find a new brain!) starring Cedric Hardwicke (billed as "Sir Cedric Hardwicke"; as Dr. Ludwig Frankenstein), Ralph Bellamy, Lionel Atwill (as Doctor Bohmer), Bela Lugosi (as Ygor), Evelyn Ankers (as Elsa Frankenstein), Lon Chaney Jr. (as the Frankenstein monster), Holmes Herbert, and Janet Ann Gallow NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this title card is extremely rare! We have only auctioned two examples of it in all our years of auctioning, and only one in the last 20 years. That last example has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still only one of two examples we have ever auctioned! The posters and lobby cards for the 1948 Realart re-release of this 1942 Universal horror movie were created just six years after the original release. The re-release posters and lobby cards are likely just as rare as the originals, if not more so, likely because fewer theaters played the movie in 1948 than played it in 1942. The 1948 re-release items have great different images that are not the same as those from the 1942 posters and lobby cards! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: fair. The card was folded vertically, in the area between the stars and the title. There is tiny surface paper loss on parts of that fold, and someone performed touch up to the surface paper loss that fell in the woman's hair. The card has also darkened considerably throughout, except for parts around the edges that were covered by a mat when it was framed. There are several pairs of staple holes around the edges, with a tiny bit of paper loss in the top of the left blank border and a stamp in the left of the bottom blank border. Please read our description above and look at our super-sized images before placing a bid on this very rare title card. Learn More about condition grades
