An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Rings on Her Fingers, the 1942 Rouben Mamoulian romantic con-man swindler comedy ("It's larceny... But she's lovely... And he loves it!"; "Original story by Robert Pirosh and Joseph Schrank"; very similar to "The Lady Eve" which had been made the year before, also with Henry Fonda; about a man looking to buy a boat, and a pair of grifters think he is a rich man, and they get a beautiful young sales clerk to help them con him, but of course, the girl really falls in love with him) starring Henry Fonda, Gene Tierney, Laird Cregar, Shepperd Strudwick (billed as "John Shepperd"), Henry Stephenson, and Spring Byington NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly significant defects that were not restorated at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had creases in the middle of Tierney's face and hair at the top left of the image. It also had extra creases and many small areas of paper loss across the top foldline, many tears, and just a few areas of paper loss down the vertical foldline and a lesser number of tears on the bottom two horizontal foldlines. There were pinholes and tears, creases, and small areas of paper loss in the borders. The poster was pretty well linenbacked, but you can still see signs of the restoration, even from a distance away. Learn More about condition grades
