12 Original Circa 1980s Vintage Theatrical Color Dutch 9" x 11" [23 x 28 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More)

Catherine Deneuve was born in France in 1943. Was there ever a more beautiful woman? She started as a teen actress, but her big break came in the female lead role in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, the Jacques Demy operetta-like movie (where all the dialog is sung!) about the doomed romance of two young lovers. The following year she starred as a schizophrenic killer in Roman Polanski's Repulsion, and two years later she had her most memorable role in Luis Bunuel's Belle De Jour, where she played a housewife who moonlighted as a part-time prostitute!. She wrapped up a string of amazingly good 1960s movies with Mississippi Mermaid for Francois Truffaut in 1969. She has never stopped working, and she has made an astonishing 107 movies to date, and she is still quite beautiful! Some of her other movies include: Dancer in the Dark, Persepolis, 8 Femmes, and Indochine (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film). As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 77!
Important Added Info: Note that these stills measure 9" x 11" to 9 1/2" x 11 3/4". Also note that these stills were printed on Kodak paper, but we believe them to surely be original stills. Sometimes, studios would run out of stills and have extras printed on Kodak stock.

Condition: good to very good. Most or all of the stills have a faint embossed foreign stamp in one corner and several pinholes in each corner (some have been repaired with tape from the back and most have been "touched up" with marker). Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid.
