An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Rusty Leads the Way, the 1948 Will Jason German Shepard seeing-eye dog canine adventure melodrama sequel ("A boy's best friend... and a kid's only hope!"; "Amazing adventures with a gallant 'guide dog'..."; young Danny and his dog Rusty befriend a blind girl, and get her a seeing-eye dog, which gives her a new lease on life) starring Ted Donaldson, Sharyn Moffett, John Litel, Ann Doran, Paula Raymond, Flame (in the title role as Rusty the dog!), and Dwayne Hickman (uncredited, and billed as "Wayne Hickman"). Flame is a pretty much forgotten canine star of the 1940s and 1950s (and he was actually the third dog star named "Flame"), but he appeared in 17 movies starting with 1946's "My Dog Shep", and he also starred in "My Dog Rusty", and he appeared in several movies as Shep and as Rusty between 1946 and 1951. In 1952, he made a single appearance in the 1952 TV series "Cowboy G-Men", and then in 1954, he had another single appearance in TV's "The Life of Riley", at which point he retired. There is light rippling and slight discoloration scattered in portions of the poster due to exposure to moisture and there are several tiny circular areas of paper loss scattered throughout.
