An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

The Spider Woman Strikes Back, the 1946 Arthur Lubin horror thriller ("Mistress of menace!") starring Gale Sondergaard (in the title role "As the Spider Woman!"), Kirby Grant, Brenda Joyce, Milburn Stone, and Rondo Hatton (billed as "Rondo Hatton as Mario... The Monster-Man!"). Note that Rondo Hatton was an actor from the 1930s to the 1940s. He was afflicted with acromegaly which is "a chronic disease of adults marked by enlargement of the bones of the extremities, face, and jaw that is caused by overactivity of the pituitary gland". Hollywood saw in Hatton the chance to make money by exploiting the way the disease had distorted his features, and for several years prior to his death, he was a villain in low-budget horror movies.

Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned one example of this poster before and that was 8 years ago and it sold for $304 in "good" condition! Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has a small tear that slightly enters the black border at lower right (repaired with tape from the back). It has a series of fine creases scattered through the lower half (some affect portions of the title at right) and a few tiny scuffs. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and after a simple paperbacking the ultra rare poster will look great!
