An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Russian Movie Poster (measures 21 1/2" x 35" [55 x 89 cm]) (Learn More) Dersu Uzala, the 1961 Agasi Babayan Russian Siberia adventure-in-the-wilderness melodrama starring Adolf Shestakov, Kasym Zhakibayev, Aleksandr Baranov, N. Gladkov, and L. Lobov. Note that this movie is based on the 1923 book of the same name by the Russian author Vladimir Arsenyev, which is autobiographical, and tells of his journey to Siberia, where he meets Dersu Uzala, a man who he greatly admires because he treats animals and plants as equal to humans, and he explored the wilderness with Uzala, and invited him to live with him! This movie is little known outside of Russia, but in 1975, Akira Kurosawa made another version of it, again under the name of the novel, and it was a major success worldwide!
