An Original Vintage Linenbacked French Stage Play Poster (measures 36 1/2" x 52" [92 x 132 cm]) (Learn More) Le Grand Mogol (literally translates to "The Great Mogul"), the 1886 French stage play production. The production is an opera bouffe with music by Edmond Audran. The opera depicts the love between an Indian prince and a young Parisienne, and the unsuccessful attempts of conspirators to thwart their romance. The piece exists in two versions. The first, in three acts, with words by Henri Chivot, was first produced at the Theatre du Gymnase in Marseille in 1877. A revised four-act version, with words by Chivot and Alfred Duru, was first produced at the Theatre de la Gaite in Paris in 1884 If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had paper loss at the crossfolds and small tears and small areas of paper loss on parts of several folds and in the borders.
