Important Added Info: Note that this is a test photo used to show one of the many hairstyles that Ida Lupino wore during 1948's "Escape Me Never" (it is cool that the still is from 1945, so it took three years for the movie to be released). The stars would wear a hairstyle from the movie and have multiple pictures taken, and then they would wear different one and repeat the process, until they had tried all their hairstyles. I wonder if major stars of today have to endure this same ritual? The studios would use these images for reference if they needed to shoot additional footage at a later time after the hairstyle was changed. Also note that it is extremely likely that this is a "key book" still, and it is virtually a certainty that the punch holes were put there by the studio at the time the still was created, so they are not a defect.
