The theme of the fair was "Peace Through Understanding", dedicated to "Man's Achievement on a Shrinking Globe in an Expanding Universe". The theme was symbolized by the building of a 12-story high, stainless-steel model of the earth called the Unisphere. Industrial exhibitors played a major role by hosting huge, elaborate exhibits such as General Motors' Futurama, a show in which visitors seated in moving chairs glided past elaborately detailed miniature model scenery showing what life might be like in the "near-future". If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
