DeMille's North West Mounted Police, the 1940 Cecil B. DeMille Royal Canadian Mounted Police Mountie Texas Ranger romantic cowboy western ("Cecil B. DeMille's North West Mounted Police"; "Original Screen Play by Alan Le May, Jesse Lasky, Jr. and C. Gardner Sullivan"; a ridiculous yet entertaining story of a Texas Ranger who travels to Canada to take a prisoner home, but the Mounties want him too!) starring Gary Cooper (as Dusty Rivers), Madeleine Carroll, Paulette Goddard, Preston Foster, Robert Preston, Akim Tamiroff, Lynne Overman, George Bancroft, Lon Chaney Jr., Ralph Byrd, and Walter Hampden NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this set of stills has a great provenance! Johnny Crawford, who first came to fame as the son in the TV series "The Rifleman" and later became a band leader loved movies, and early on he collected many movie stills and more. This set of 8x10 stills was consigned to us from his collection! Also note that these key book stills are on a deluxe heavyweight paper stock and had an extra 1" on the left or top of the stills (once with punch holes where the stills were kept in a binder) but that extra 1" has neatly been trimmed off. Finally note that most have an "approved" stamp on the back dating the stills to 1940! Condition: very good. As noted above, approximately 1 " of the upper edge of each key book still was neatly trimmed off. Each has a few light scuffs that are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light and some creases around the edges. The still pictured at upper left with the smiling close-up has a few slightly more noticeable scuffs when observed close-up and some tiny bits of surface paper loss in the lower left area of the credits.
