'Deep In The Heart of Texas'"; "Based on a a story by Newlin B. Wildes") starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Fay McKenzie, Edith Fellows, Pierre Watkin, Joe Strauch Jr., William Haade, and The Jimmy Wakely Trio. Note that in 1941, the producers had the fun idea of giving sidekick Smiley Burnette (who played "Frog") a youthful sidekick of his own, and they hired young Joe Strauch Jr., who played that part in six of these movies, and naturally, his character was nicknamed "Tadpole"!
