Four Original Vintage Golden Age Comic Books (Learn More) Important Added Info: Those of you who have been in comics a very long time will recognize the name "Bruce Hershenson". From 1967 to 1976 I was a full-time comic book collector, dealer, and publisher. I published the VERY first EC comic book reprints (from 1972 to 1975). In 1976, I left the hobby (which at that time had around 5,000 collectors in it!). In 1989 I became a full-time movie poster dealer, and since then have sold more movie posters than anyone in the world! I have also published 31 full-color books of movie poster reproductions, some of which served as auction catalogs, and some of which are reference books. Altogether, they are a comprehensive guide to the best movie posters ever made. Condition: fair. Each of the four is probably in fair condition, and each has yellowed, slightly stained interior pages (forgive me for not being knowledgeable about CGC number grading and similar "high tech" current comic terminology and mumbo-jumbo), with the exception of the "Wonderworld #14" which is missing four pages, so I would assume that makes it poor condition. Here is a brief run down of each comic book: Action Comics #21 (Superman) - the comic has paper loss down the right 1/2" of the cover (but not the interior pages nor the back cover). The spine is rolled and there is paper loss down the spine. The interior pages have some slight water staining, mostly down the left borders of the backs of the pages. Someone glued the covers to the book, and the glue extends inward a good 1/2" (probably many years ago). Overall, it is in fair condition. Amazing-Man Comics #6 (art by Bill Everett) - the comic has tiny paper loss in the middle of the right border of the cover (but not the interior pages nor the back cover). There is tiny paper loss down the spine. The interior pages have some slight water staining, mostly down the left borders of the backs of the pages. There was a 2" tear in the middle of the left of the front cover. Someone glued the covers to the book, and the glue extends inward a good 1/2" (probably many years ago). Overall, it is in fair condition. Speed Comics #3 (Shock Gibson) - the comic has a 1/2" tear in the middle of the right border of the cover. There is small paper loss down the spine. The interior pages have some slight water staining, mostly down the left borders of the backs of the pages. Someone glued the covers to the book, and the glue extends inward a good 1/2" (probably many years ago). Overall, it is in poor-fair condition. Wonderworld Comics #14 (The Flame) - the center four pages of the comic (#31-34) are missing. The comic has many small tears in the right border of the cover, and a few tears on the interior pages. There is small paper loss down the spine. The interior pages have some water staining, mostly down the right borders of the right hand pages and down the left borders of the backs of the pages. There is some paper loss in the top center of the back cover (it appears to be greater than it actually is in the photo below, because some of the paper was folded under). Someone glued the covers to the book, and the glue extends inward a good 1/2" (probably many years ago). Overall, it is in poor condition. Note that this comic has a really cool full-color ad on the inside back cover which shows six full-color covers from other Fox comics (Mystery Men Comics, Science Comics, Wonderworld Comics, Fantastic Comics, Weird Comics, and the Blue Beetle). Please do not bid on these comics hoping that they are in better condition than they are, for they definitely aren't. Please only bid if you can accept their many defects, or are willing to have them professionally restored. Learn More about condition grades
