An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 8 3/4" x 11 1/2" [22 x 29 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Das Indische Grabmal (released in English-speaking countries as "The Indian Tomb"), the 1938 Richard Eichberg German action adventure thriller sequel (based on the novel by Thea von Harbou) starring Kitty Jantzen, La Jana, Philip Dorn (billed as "Frits van Dongen"), Alexander Golling, Gustav Diessl, and Hans Stuwe. Note that this was a remake of a 1921 movie where von Harbou's novel was adapted to the screen by Fritz Lang, and then, in an odd twist, in 1959, Fritz Lang remade this movie again, even though he and von Harbou had had a bitter divorce many years earlier! Yes, that IS the same Philip Dorn who later starred in U.S. movies! He was born Hein van der Niet, and he acted in German movies under the name of Frits van Dongen, but he fled to America in the late 1930s, changed his name, and had success there (helped by the many U.S. stars who were away in the service). Also note that this movie was a sequel to the 1938 German movie "Der Tiger von Eschnapur" (The Tiger of Eschnapur). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" item for this German movie! Also note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 8-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the eight pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are four pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Note that on January 6th of this year we auctioned a mostly single owner collection of 551 German and Austrian programs, that included many rare and wonderful titles, but now we have been consigned (from a new consignor) 128 German and Austrian programs which include some programs that are duplicates of ones we auctioned on January 6th, but which also includes a large number of programs which we have never auctioned before, including many rare and wonderful titles (especially super-rare pre-World War II titles from both countries, and some scarce titles from during World War II and from immediately after)! If you have the slightest interest in these, be sure to look over all of the 128 programs we are currently offering. We promise you won't be disappointed! Condition: good. There is a triangular area of paper loss in the top left corner of all pages, but it has little effect on the images. Learn More about condition grades
