Wellman San Francisco California pre-Code bad girl prostitution mother-son family relationship melodrama ("I've made men and I've ruined women!"; about a woman who becomes pregnant in San Francisco, and her boyfriend is killed in the 1906 earthquake, and she gives up the child to a rich family, and she becomes an important madam at a brothel, and years later, she is investigated by the new district attorney, who is her son, all grown up!) starring Ruth Chatterton (in the title role as Frisco Jenny Sandoval), Donald Cook, James Murray, Fritzi Ridgeway, and Louis Calhern NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the movie is called "Common Ground" on the back of this still, which was the working title for this movie! Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Condition: fair. There is a vertical crease running down the right of the image (through Wellman's figure).
