A Linenbacked Danish Travel Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 39 3/4" [62 x 101 cm]) (Learn More) SAS: South Africa, the 1950s Danish airplane airline aviation travel poster ("South Africa by SAS") designed to promote tourism in South Africa via Scandinavian Airlines System, and featuring Otto Nielsen artwork of a South African woman with clay jars and bowls with an airplane flying overhead Artist: Otto Nielsen Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a slightly diagonal crease, slightly to the right of center, running down the entire poster. It had a 5" Y-shaped tear at top center, running through the second "A" of "AFRICA". It had a few small tears in the upper left border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
