An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Australian Daybill Movie Poster (measures approximately 13" x 30") (Learn More) First of the Few (released in the U.S. in 1943 as "Spitfire"), the 1942 Leslie Howard English World War II (WWII) airplane aviation war action thriller ("The immortal story of the spitfire."; "The story of the plane that busted the blitz!"; "The drama with wings"; "The story of the plane that saved an empire! and The Dream, The Faith and The Love behind its creation!"; "A Leslie Howard Production"; about the development of the famous English fighter plane that was instrumental in fending off the Luftwaffe during "the blitz" and helping to defeat the Nazis in World War II) starring Leslie Howard (in his very last movie, due to his war-related death; he was in an airplane that was shot down by the Nazis), David Niven, Rosamund John, Roland Culver, Anne Firth, and "Pilots and other Personnel of the R.A.F. Important Added Info: Note that this rare daybill is from the original release of this classic WWII Leslie Howard movie under its original title of "First of the Few". The movie was not released in the U.S. until 1948 (under the title "Spitfire"). This is the second poster I have seen with the original title! Condition: fine. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its extremely minor defects were repaired and it now looks really great! We only assigned this grade ("fine") to posters that were in really excellent condition prior to linenbacking, and which were linenbacked by a top professional. The poster had tiny paper loss at the left and right ends of the top foldline. It was overall in excellent condition prior to linenbacking. It was well backed, and looks great!
