A 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Josephine Baker was a black African American stage performer, singer, and actress from the 1920s to the 1970s, who spent much time on stage, and made only a few movies. She went to Europe and achieved enormous success (and notoriety) in the Follies Bergere and other shows, because she danced nude in some of her dances. She only starred in two movies, both in the 1930s: Zou-Zou and Princess Tam-Tam, but she appeared in smaller roles in some movies in the 1920s and the 1940s and 1950s. She continued performing throughout her life, and was performing in a stage show, "An Evening with Josephine Baker", right up until she passed away in 1975, at the age of 68. Artist: Lucien Bertaux Important Added Info: Note that this still features artwork of Josephine Baker by Lucien Bertaux. It is undated, but it seems likely to be from the 1960s and apparently issued by her agent, Trans-World Associates. Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Condition: good. There are many creases scattered throughout the still. Learn More about condition grades
