An Original Vintage Autographed Concert Poster (measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) A Star Is Born, the 1976 Bill Graham stage play production musical rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) concert melodrama which was held at Arizona State University Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona Saturday March 20th ("A Live Concert"; "Barbra Streisand Kris Kristofferson and you in A Star is Born"; "Festival Seating You Must come early! Doors Open 6:00a.m. Doors Close 9:00am sharp. Filming and concert continues from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission $3.50") featuring live performances by Peter Frampton, Santana, Montrose, Graham Central Station, L.A. Jets, "and many, many, many surprises!" as well as "Appearances by Barbra Streisand, Kris Kristofferson filming 'A Star Is Born'". Note that the producers of this movie needed to film sequences of Streisand and Kristofferson performing live in front of a huge crowd at a stadium. Instead of hiring tens of thousands of extras, which would have cost a fortune, they hit on the novel idea of having a real concert (which they could charge admission for!), and then have Streisand and Kristofferson come out and appear on stage for a short while, which would let them get plenty of shots of them in front of the huge crowds. Apparently, there were long delays at the actual concert where the technical people were setting up their cameras, and the crowd became very hostile, but the idea worked, and they got the footage used in the actual movie. This poster is for this concert, and is NOT a poster for the actual movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Jim Pearsall Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Jim Pearsall to famed film critic, Judith Crist! This poster came from Judith Crist's collection and is mounted onto foamcore, because she had it displayed on her wall. While most collectors do not like this, I have seen many posters that have been mounted on foamcore for years, and it never has any ill effects on the poster, so I am not sure why there is a bias against it, and certainly, this poster could be re-framed and displayed on the owner's wall just as it is. Finally, note that this poster has been trimmed (no doubt to fit the frame it was in) and it now measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good. The top and bottom edges of the poster have been trimmed and it has been mounted onto a foamcore backing (see above). The poster is somewhat faded and yellowed from exposure to sunlight. There is a 1 1/2" tear in the lower right corner of the poster. There are some scuff marks, minor creases, and smudges scattered throughout the poster. Learn More about condition grades
