Date Sold 9/5/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Deluxe 10" x 12 1/4" [25 x 31 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Barbara Stanwyck (born Ruby Catherine Stevens) was a major female star from the 1920s to the 1980s. She was an immediate hit in sexy "bad girl" parts in the very early 1930s, and in 1931, she was described as "the girl with the Mona Lisa smile". Some of her movies include: Stella Dallas (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Double Indemnity (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Lady Eve, Meet John Doe, Ball Of Fire (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Sorry, Wrong Number (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, and scores of others! In her later years, she took a starring role on TV's "The Big Valley", and "The Colbys" (as spin-off of "Dynasty"). She passed away in 1990 at the age of 82. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Barbara Stanwyck! This is one of several signed photos and letters that were given to Virgil Proctor, who was a member of the crew on a movie this star worked on (he was a "best boy" on a number of movies of this period, and there are others he worked on that he was not credited on). These items from Virgil Proctor's estate are personalized to him, and while his family does not have a certificate of authenticity for any of the items, we are certain the signatures are authentic (in our July Major Auction, we auctioned an unsigned Spartacus money clip (which sold for $678) and an unsigned Christmas card (which sold for $980), both of which were given to Mr. Proctor by Kirk Douglas, and obviously, the stars he worked with cared enough to personally sign and gift items to him!). Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 10" x 12 1/4" [25 x 31 cm]. Finally, note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: poor to fair. The signature is slightly faded. The still was trimmed around the edges. There are tears, areas of surface paper loss, and tiny paper loss in the upper left, extending into Stanwyck's forehead and upper cheek, with some light staining in that area. There is tape o the back of three borders. Please bear the above in mind and look at our super-sized images before placing a bid on this still. Learn More about condition grades
