eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 3y948 WEST OF THE LAW 1sh 1942 western cowboys Buck Jones & Tim McCoy with guns drawn! Date Sold 1/30/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) West of the Law, the 1942 Howard Bretherton cowboy western ("The 'Rough Riders' in 'West of the Law'") starring Buck Jones, Tim McCoy, Raymond Hatton, Evelyn Cook, and Silver (Buck's Horse). Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The poster has significant creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths along parts of some edges and separation across the vertical foldline. Many of the tears or other defects as described above have been repaired with several pieces of tape from the back. Learn More about condition grades
