We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this one-sheet! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was displayed and had darkened, more so in the blank borders. It had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases and a few tears on parts of the borders. It had some pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame. While I would think most collectors could happily display this extremely rare poster as it is, one might choose to have a restorer remove it from the old linen and re-back it, and they could probably address the darkening. Either way, the new owner will have an incredibly rare poster to display on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
