Emprunt National Societe Generale (literally translates to "Societe Generale National Loan"), the 1918 French World War I (WWI) War Bonds poster (with a tagline that translates to "For the supreme effort") encouraging citizens to help the war efforts, and featuring great Marcel Falter art of a French soldier choking a German eagle on the battlefield.

Note that this poster ships in a very long tube (at least 33" long, but possibly 50" long or more). Therefore the shipping for this poster will be more than that for a poster that ships in a tube 32" or shorter, and possibly much more. Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. You can tell how long of a tube this poster needs to ship in by looking at the shorter dimension of its length and width and then adding 4" to that (so a 47" x 63" poster will need to ship in a 51" long tube).

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had darkened somewhat, typical of French war posters of this period. It had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and a few small tears on parts of some folds. It had many tears and some paper loss in the top blank border. It had a 5" tear near the middle of the bottom border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
