An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter 14 ("The Scarab Strikes") One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Captain America, the 1944 Elmer Clifton & John English Marvel Comics (at the time known as "Atlas Comics"!) comic book superhero crime fighting fantasy serial ("Based on the Character appearing in Captain America Comics"; "A Republic Serial in 15 Chapters") starring Dick Purcell (in the title role as Captain America; he died just a few months after shooting finished), Lorna Gray, Lionel Atwill, Charles Trowbridge, George J. Lewis, and John Hamilton. Note that this was the very first Marvel Comics character to be turned into a movie, and we don't know how faithful the adaptation was (in the movie, Captain America uses a gun, and we don't remember him ever doing that in the comics!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss in the left half of the middle foldline. There was minor wear on the other folds and some minor border defects. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
