9j351 INDIAN TOMB Belgian '59 Fritz Lang, cool different art of sexy Debra Paget!

An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 13" x 22" [33 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Das Indische Grabmal (released in English-speaking countries as "The Indian Tomb"), the 1959 Fritz Lang German/French/Italian action adventure sequel starring Debra Paget, Paul Hubschmid, Walter Reyer, Claus Holm, Sabine Bethmann, Rene Deltgen, Jochen Brockmann, Valery Inkijinoff, and Claus Holm. This is the movie where Debra Paget does an outrageously sexy dance with a cobra, wearing a tiny amount of clothes, which appear to be glued onto her! Note that this movie was a sequel to Fritz Lang's 1959 movie "Der Tiger von Eschnapur". Further complicating matters is that Lang then edited the two movies into a single feature which was released in English as "Journey to the Lost City". Sometimes, posters from one of the first two movies are incorrectly sold as being from "Journey to the Lost City" (we have been guilty of this ourselves!). Finally, note that both those movies were based on novels that Lang's ex-wife, Thea von Harbou, wrote, so obviously, he did not bear ill will against his former wife/screenwriter!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Note that this item (and others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from the estate of Lee Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a nationally recognized projectionist, film poster collector, and union activist who passed away last year, and the net proceeds from the sale of his varied and eclectic collection will be donated to promote film studies at the Besant School of Happy Valley in Ojai, Ca.

Condition: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). There are tears of varying lengths at upper center that have been repaired with tape from the back.
