An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 13" x 27 3/4" [33 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) Per Qualche Dollaro in Piu (released in the U.S. in 1967 as "For a Few Dollars More"), the classic 1965 Sergio Leone German/Italian/Spanish cowboy spaghetti western sequel ("The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting..."; "It's the second motion picture of its kind! It won't be the last!"; "The man with no name is back! The man in black is waiting... A walking arsenal - he uncoils, strikes and kills!") starring Clint Eastwood (as Monco), Lee Van Cleef (as Col. Mortimer), Gian Maria Volonte, Mara Krupp (billed as "Mara Krup"), Luigi Pistilli, Klaus Kinski (as Juan Wild, the Hunchback), Joseph Egger (billed as "Josef Egger"), Panos Papadopulos, Benito Steffanelli, Roberto Camardiel, Aldo Sambrell, Luis Rodriguez, and Mario Brega. Note that this movie was released in December of 1965 (no doubt to qualify for awards), but most of the Italian posters from the first release are dated 1966. Artist: Franco Fiorenzi Important Added Info: Note that we have only once before auctioned this first release Italian locandina, which is a "country of origin" poster for this partially Italian movie, and that was six years ago, when it auctioned for $416 (and that one was only in "fair to good" condition)! Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. Note that while this poster technically COULD be rolled in a tube, the backing is heavy enough that we strongly advise against it. Therefore, we will only send this poster in a very large flat package, unless the new owner insists on a tube, and accepts responsibility for any damage caused by it being rolled. The poster will arrive fine and display great if it is sent in a flat package, but it will cost more to send this way, especially if the poster is being sent outside the U.S., so please only bid on this poster when you take into mind the cost of shipping it in a very large flat package. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster was folded across the middle, and it has some creases and fine surface paper loss on that fold. It had pinholes and a few tears around the edges. It had scuffs in the bottom 4" below the title. The poster was folded horizontally in the top 3" and 3" below that, going across the upper part of Eastwood's hat, with minor wear on those folds.
