An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 16 3/4" [36 x 43 cm]) (Learn More) Spitfire, the 1934 John Cromwell mountain-girl-big-city-engineer romantic melodrama ("The screen's disturbing star in her greatest human role!"; "Nothin' to Pay... Nothin' to Lose... She Loved Wherever Her Flames Caught Fire!"; "From the novel by Lula Vollmer.") starring Katharine Hepburn ("as the lying, stealing, singing, praying witch girl of the Ozarks", "The screen's disturbing star in her greatest human role!"), Robert Young, Ralph Bellamy, Martha Sleeper, Louis Mason, Sara Haden, Virginia Howell, Sidney Toler, and Will Geer (much later famous as Grandpa Walton; billed as "High Ghere") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this window card! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 16 3/4" [36 x 43 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: fair to good. Slightly over 5" was trimmed from the top of the card. It appears to only affect the top of Hepburn's name and the red background, but we don't have another example of this card to compare it to. Certainly it could be left as is, or one might have the missing area restored. Either way, please bear the above in mind before bidding on this very rare card. Learn More about condition grades
