An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Captain's Paradise, the 1953 Anthony Kimmins English seafaring bigamy romantic comedy ("No man's ever had it so good!"; "Guinness is at his superb best!"; about a captain of an international ferry who has wives in both ports) starring Alec Guinness (in the title role as Captain Henry St. James), Yvonne De Carlo, Celia Johnson, Charles Goldner, and Miles Malleson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, scuffs, and a few tiny tears in the bottom half of the vertical foldline and in the bottom horizontal foldline. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did very little restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not at all distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
