An Original Vintage Folded Special Movie Poster (measures 39 1/4" x 55" [100 x 140 cm]) (Learn More)

Bunny At the Derby, the 1912 Laurence Trimble silent slapstick comedy short (about a street vendor who takes a girl to the town of Epsom to prevent a horse-drawn carriage from being stolen!) starring John Bunny (in the title role as Mr. Bunny) and Bertina Smith. Note that John Bunny was one of the greatest early comedy stars, and he had been a stage actor who worked for Vitagraph from 1910 until his unfortunate passing in 1915, appearing in 150 movies for them! Because he passed away so early in the development of film, virtually no posters exist from his films, and lobby cards had not even been invented at the time of his passing. Note also that this is a VERY unusual poster from the early 1910s! In the earliest days of movie distribution, the studios (especially The Vitagraph Company) temporarily hit on the idea of creating one poster for use in several European countries, and to make that work, they put the title of the movie in three different languages at the top of the poster! The languages are Italian, German, and French. This is a rare opportunity to purchase an extremely early movie poster!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this film is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we were consigned this poster!

Condition: fair to good. The poster is fragile and it has pinholes, tears and tiny paper loss around the edges and some tears and tiny paper loss on parts of the folds. It also has some small stains scattered throughout, and some uneven darkening. It is otherwise "mostly all there" and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
