Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, the 1979 - 1980 Harold Prince Broadway musical black comedy stage play (with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; based on the book by Christopher Bond; about a barber who kills his customers and makes pies out of them!) starring Angela Lansbury, Len Cariou (in the title role as Sweeney Todd), Victor Garber, Ken Jennings, and Merle Louise. The show won 8 Tony Awards, including the Best Musical of 1979.
