An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) A Girl, a Guy, and a Gob, the 1941 Richard Wallace romantic love triangle comedy ("Produced by Harold Lloyd") starring George Murphy, Lucille Ball, Edmond O'Brien, Henry Travers, Franklin Pangborn, and Marguerite Chapman. Note that the word "gob" was an Americanism which referred to a sailor in the United States Navy, and it was commonly used in the U.S. from at least the 1920s to the 1940s, and was so commonly used that it was understood when it was used as part of this movie title, but surely modern day viewers would have no idea what that word means, because it has completely fallen into disuse. The poster had tears and areas of paper loss between the top crossfold down to 2" below the middle crossfold, with some surface paper loss on parts of the other folds. It had some tape stains and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
