(Learn More) Katy Jurado was a Mexican actress from the 1940s to the 2000s. She played the lead in lots of conventional movies in her native Mexico, but in Hollywood productions, she was typecast and forced to play Mexican parts. She is surely best remembered for her part as "Helen Ramirez" in the classic High Noon, and she also had parts in One-Eyed Jacks and Broken Lance (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film). She passed away in 2002 at the age of 78. Important Added Info: Note that in the case of this one negative in this auction, it comes together with an "unretouched proof photo" that was created by the studio (see our images). The proof has a date stamp on the back of OCT 16 1952. This is a CAMERA ORIGINAL negative, the actual film that was in the camera when the photographer shot the image. We have taken a scan of the negative as it appears, and also a special scan of the negative that shows the "positive image". We will provide the winning bidder of this auction with that positive image scan. Note that this is one of 61 auctions of transparencies and negatives that come directly from the personal files of publicist Rolf Larsen, who worked in the Paramount Pictures publicity department from the early 1950s through the early 1970s. Larsen worked closely with many of the biggest stars on the studio roster and his massive collection of original photographers transparencies and negatives spans over more than two decades of Hollywood history. This is the first offering of these rare (and often unseen for decades!) images from eMoviePoster.com from this remarkable collection.
