An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More)

Bluebeard's Eighth Wife, the classic 1938 Ernst Lubitsch France romantic idle rich marriage comedy ("He married in haste and repeated with pleasure!"; "Based on the play by Alfred Servoir"; "Screen Play by Charles Brackett & Billy Wilder"; "English Play Adaptation by Charlton Andrews"; about an American multi-millionaire who marries the daughter of a poor French aristocrat, and because she is his eighth wife, she works hard to keep him) starring Claudette Colbert (in the title role), Gary Cooper, Edward Everett Horton, David Niven, Elizabeth Patterson, Herman Bing, Franklin Pangborn, and Rolfe Sedan. Note that this movie combines wonderful direction by Ernst Lubitsch, great writing by Charles Brackett and Billy Wilder, and wonderful acting by the leads. It really "has it all"!

Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards.

Condition: very good. The blank top of the card had been trimmed off and there were some creases, smudges, and stains around the edges of the card. A talented restorer paperbacked the card, replacing the missing top and doing touch up to the edges of the card (but the image area was in pretty nice condition, and required next-to-no restoration). The card was well restored, and looks great!
