Revues featured extravagant costumes, sets and effects, and often nude women. In 1926, Josephine Baker caused a sensation at the Folies Bergere by dancing in a costume consisting of a skirt made of a string of artificial bananas and little else. It has been the stage for many other famous acts including: Maurice Chevalier, Fernandel, W.C. Fields, Ella Fitzgerald, and many, many more! Artist: Alain Aslan Important Added Info: Note that Aslan (Alain Gourdon) was a French painter, sculptor and pin-up artist who was well-known in France for his pin up artwork. He contributed a monthly pin-up to Lui (a French adult magazine) from 1964 to the early eighties. He is also the sculptor of the Dalida's (a famous French vocalist and actress) funerary statue on her tomb from 1987, and her bronze bust that was erected on Place Dalida in 1997.
