An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The World's Champion, the 1922 Phil Rosen silent England romantic love triangle boxing sports melodrama ("Based on the well-known play 'The Champion' by A.E. Thomas and Thomas Louren"; about the son of a rich Englishman who tries to romance a Lady, but he is beaten by her cousin; he goes to America, where he becomes a boxing champion, and he returns to discover that the Lady has fallen on hard times, and is now the secretary to his father, but she still rejects him, because she looks down on boxers, but when he beats up a rival and also quits boxing to become a lawyer, she agrees to become his bride) starring Wallace Reid, Lois Wilson, Lionel Belmore, Rube Miller, and Helen Dunbar. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the vast majority of collectors would assume that this is a title card, but it is not! In the mid to late 1920s, Paramount made many sets of lobby cards where the seven scene cards all LOOK like title cards, but the actual title card is different from the seven scene cards (not too long after this, Paramount abandoned title cards altogether for the most part for the next forty-odd years, instead using a posed portrait of the stars in place of a title card). This scene card is from one of those sets where the scene cards are commonly mistaken for title cards. Please do not bid on it thinking it is a title card, as it is a scene card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. There are a few faint smudges scattered in the blank white areas. Otherwise, the card is in excellent condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
