What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had stains in the middle, in Lamarr's cheek and nose. It had paper loss at the bottom crossfold. It had extra folds with tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds. It had some stains and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. If I owned this great and rare poster, I would surely immediately have it re-backed by a talented restorer, and afterward it will display well, but please bear all of the above in mind before bidding.
