Note that this movie, together with Francois Truffaut's "Les quatre cents coups" began the French "New Wave", which revolutionized film-making, not only in France, but the world over! Artist: Clement Hurel Important Added Info: Note that this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this classic French Godard movie, is extremely rare. We have only auctioned this poster once before (we auctioned the same poster twice), so it is still only one of two examples of this French one-panel poster we have ever auctioned! In addition, we have only auctioned four of the "medium" size French posters in all our years of auctioning. First release French posters from this most classic French movie are extremely rare! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had smudges and scuffs scattered in the solid colored areas and a few in the rest of the poster. It had a piece of tape on the back of the top center crossfold. It had some tiny creases and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with a few partial extra folds near to the regular ones. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
