An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Count, the 1916 Charlie Chaplin silent slapstick romantic comedy short (about the Tramp getting a job working for a count, but then he irons his trousers and burns them and is fired; he finds an invitation to a party for the count, and he goes to the party and impersonates the count, but then the real count shows up) starring Charlie Chaplin (Charles Chaplin), Edna Purviance, Eric Campbell, Albert Austin, Henry Bergman, and Leo White (in the title role as Count Broko)

Important Added Info: There is much rarity among silent lobby cards of all sorts, but first release Charlie Chaplin lobby cards from the mid 1910s are insanely rare! In all our years of auctioning, we have only auctioned one first release Charlie Chaplin Mutual lobby card, and that was from "The Rink". Now we have our second first release Mutual Charlie Chaplin lobby card, this wonderful one from "The Count"! How many more years will it be before we have another one?

Condition: good to very good. There are pinholes and smudges around the edges. There is paper loss in the top right blank corner and a 1 1/2" tear in the middle of the right border. There are tiny stickers on the back of parts of the borders, where the card was attached to something many decades ago (but they do not affect the front). The card is completely unrestored, and can be displayed wonderfully just as it is, or certainly, one could choose to have expert restoration performed to the border defects. Either way, I am envious of the new owner of this incredibly rare lobby card!
