Original Vintage Lobby Card (Measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Zane Grey's The Last of the Duanes, the 1924 Lynn Reynolds silent romantic love triangle cowboy western ("From the novel by Zane Grey"; "Dedicated to the Heroes of the Wide Open Spaces"; "In Zane Grey's novel of the wide open spaces"; a complicated story about a gunslinger who goes to the small western town where his sheriff father was murdered, wanting to avenge his father's death, but he ends up framed for murder himself) starring Tom Mix (in the title role as Buck Duane), Marian Nixon (in an early credited role), Brinsley Shaw, Frank Nelson, Lucy Beaumont, Harry Lonsdale and Tony ("The Wonder Horse"). Note that this popular novel had been previously made in 1919 with William Farnum. It was remade and as a sound movie in 1930 with George O'Brien, and in 1941 with George Montgomery! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that this is a hand-colored card. In the days of silent film prior to the invention of good quality full-color printing, studios would have lobby cards printed in black and white and then amazingly would hire women to hand-color the cards one at a time (apparently labor was very cheap at the time)! So, each card is colored slightly differently, and the coloring is never a perfect match.

Condition: very good. There are a couple of pinholes in each blank corner. There is a 1/2" tear with a small piece off in the upper right blank border. It is held together with tape from the back.
