eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 8f976 WESTERN UNION LC '41 Fritz Lang, cool image of Native American Indians charging on horses! Date Sold 7/5/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Zane Grey's Western Union, the 1941 Fritz Lang historical cowboy western (based on the novel by Zane Grey; about the early days of the legendary telegraph company, and specifically their connecting Omaha and Salt Lake City with telegraph wires, and the great difficulties they encounter in doing so) starring Robert Young, Randolph Scott, Dean Jagger, Virginia Gilmore, John Carradine, Slim Summerville, Chill Wills, and Barton MacLane (as Jack Slade). Note that legendary director Fritz Lang was certainly not known for westerns, but he had had success directing The Return of Frank James the year before this, and this was his second western (and years later, he would do one more, Rancho Notorious)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a group of posters, lobby cards, and stills we were consigned that all either feature actual Native American Indian actors, or feature Hollywood actors made up as Native American Indians! The collector who assembled this collection did so over many years, and we will be auctioning more stills, lobby cards, and posters from the same collection in future auctions. Condition: fine. Note that this lobby card is in excellent condition and is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! The new owner of this card will find it hard to believe that the card was not recently created, but we assure you it is 100% original from 1941, even though it has survived so amazingly well!
