eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 1j1185 SWEETIE LC 1929 best portrait of Jack Oakie kissing Helen Kane's cheek, ultra rare! Date Sold 1/18/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Sweetie, the 1929 Frank Tuttle inheritance romantic college university football sports musical ("Campus romance set to music"; a wacky story of a chorus girl who inherits a college, and her boyfriend just happens to be the star football player at the school) starring Nancy Carroll, Helen Kane, Jack Oakie, Stanley Smith, William Austin, and Stuart Erwin. Note that co-star Helen Kane had become immensely popular with her song "Boop-Boopa-Doop", and the song became the trademark of Betty Boop, the sexy female cartoon character (which was why Helen Kane was billed as "The Boop-Boopa-Doop Girl"). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned two one-sheets (30 and 28 years ago), a window card (14 years ago), a different scene card, and a few stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this second lobby card, which has a completely different scene! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
