An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Japanese "B4" or "speed" Movie Poster (10x28; measures approximately 10" x 28") (Learn More) Kaidan, the 1964 (released English-speaking countries as "Kwaidan") Masaki Kobayashi Japanese Toho collection of supernatural ghost romantic horror thriller fantasy tales ("A nation's legend, an author's imagination, a director's creation"; "Manifest in the superlative-"; "Bizarre, unearthly, terrifying"; Cannes Film Festival prize winner) starring Michiyo Aratama, Yoichi Hayashi, Keiko Kishi, Rentaro Mikuni, and Tatsuya Nakadai If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a very rare advance poster for "Kwaidan" (we are told this by an advanced Japanese collector, who tells us he has never seen this poster before!). The collector also states "one sheets for this title come up occasionally for sale but this advance never comes available". Also included with the advance poster is the advance press release booklet. The imagery on the press booklet is the same (as can be seen in our auction image). The booklet's image and format reinforce the fact that this poster surely is an advance poster for this movie as the booklet has the same artwork as the poster. Collectors have also told us that all other posters for this movie have completely different artwork. Also note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! Finally, note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. There is an extra horizontal fold 1" below the regular middle horizontal fold and there are some creases and scuffs in the top horizontal foldline. Otherwise, the poster is in pretty nice condition.
