An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Fighting Courage, the 1925 Clifford S. Elfelt silent cowboy western (from the story by Frank Howard Clark) starring Ken Maynard ("supported by a superb cast of notable players"), Tarzan ("Ken Maynard's pal"; "'King of all horses'") Peggy Montgomery, Melbourne MacDowell, Frank Whitson, Henry Ward, James Barry Jr. (as Sambo; this appears to be this young black African American's appearance in film, and we don't know anymore about him), and "Hollywood Beauty Sextette". In one of the most unusual cases of "recycling", a clever person bought the rights to this movie in 1929, and they had it "synchronized with sound", which solely meant that they added music and a "talking prologue", and they divided the movie into 10 chapters, and called it a serial! We don't know if any new footage was added (we doubt it), and it might have been re-edited. They gave it the new title of "The Range Fighter", no doubt to fool moviegoers into thinking they were seeing a brand new Ken Maynard movie! We list "The Range Fighter" under a separate entry, because it is from four years after the original version, and substantial changes were made. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1925 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine.
