An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #5 (11x14; LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Manchurian Candidate, the 1962 John Frankenheimer political conspiracy paranoia mind control science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("If you come in five minutes after this picture begins, you won't know what it's all about!"; "You must not miss the first five minutes to know what it's all about!"; "When you've seen it all, you'll swear there's never been anything like it!"; "Based upon a Novel by Richard Condon"; about a platoon in the Korean War that was part of a mind control assassination plot) starring Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey, Janet Leigh, Angela Lansbury (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Henry Silva, James Gregory, James Edwards, Joe Adams, and Leslie Parrish. Note that Angela Lansbury was someone who entered movies looking middle aged and stayed looking pretty much the same for the next 50 years! In this movie, she plays Laurence Harvey's mother, when in real life she was only three years older than him! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good to fine. Note that the card has a very minor printing defect, which is a series of faint light pink and black lines down the left edge of the left blank border. This was a very minor printing defect that occurred during the printing of these cards, and it is found on many 1950s and early 1960s lobby cards, and few collectors consider it much of a defect at all, because it is in the left edge of the blank border, has no effect on the image, and would likely be on all examples of this lobby card.
