An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Don't Fence Me In, the 1945 John English singing cowboy western musical ("Original screen play by Dorrell McGowan and Stuart E. McGowan") starring Roy Rogers ("King of the Cowboys"), Trigger ("Smartest Horse in the Movies"), George 'Gabby' Hayes, Dale Evans, Robert Livingston, Moroni Olsen, Marc Lawrence, Lucille Gleason, and Bob Nolan & The Sons of the Pioneers NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fair. This poster has been linenbacked, but it was not very well done, likely both because the restorer did not do a good job at all, and because the years since it has been linenbacked have not been kind to the poster. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Generally, it had small tears and small areas of paper loss along the foldlines (more so down the vertical fold), and it also had some areas of paper loss in the center of the image, unfortunately in most stars' faces. There were pinholes, creases, tears, and areas of paper loss scattered through the poster, more so around the edges. The poster was not well backed at all, because you can still see some or all of the defects generally described above (in some cases, as should be immediately evident in our image, the linenbacker did no restoration to some of the defects), and if there was restoration of the above defects, it was not done very well. Certainly, a talented restorer could perform additional restoration (either with or without re-backing the poster), but it might be fairly expensive to have this done, so bear that in mind before you place a bid.
