An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Campaign Book Page (measures 9 1/4" x 19" [23 x 48 cm]) (Learn More)

Bluebeard, the 1935 proposed film that was planned by Universal and would have starred Boris Karloff. We don't know why this film was never made with Karloff, but a version of it was finally made in 1944 by PRC with John Carradine in the lead, and we don't know if there are similarities in the movie besides the subject matter. The campaign book page from the 1935/1936 Universal campaign book has striking art that is signed by "Grosz". We suspect this might be George Grosz, an artist who had a very long career, but who emigrated from Europe to the United States in 1932, and drastically changed his art style. If anyone knows more about any of this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Artist: Grosz
Important Added Info: Note that this is a page from the Universal 1935/1936 campaign book, which was removed.

Condition: good to very good. The page was removed from a campaign book (see above). It has darkening, creases, and a few small tears around the edges. On the back, it has handwritten a very long recipe for white cake, but it does not affect the front.
