An Undated (probably 1960s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian One-sheet Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 40") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, the classic 1960 Alfred Hitchcock (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) psychotic killer horror thriller ("The master of suspense creates a new and altogether different screen excitement!!!"; "It is required that you see Psycho from the beginning!"; "The master of suspense moves his cameras into the icy blackness of the unexplored!"; "A new - and altogether different - screen excitement!!!"; "The master suspense-showman creates something new - and altogether different - in screen excitement!!!"; "Alfred Hitchcock's new and altogether different screen excitement!"; "The screen's master of suspense moves his cameras into the icy blackness of the unexplored..."; "Screenplay by Joseph Stefano"; based on the novel by Robert Bloch; note that Tony Palladino originally created the classic Psycho title design for the book jacket, and this lettering was purchased along with the film rights, and used on movie posters) starring Anthony Perkins (as Norman Bates), Vera Miles (as Lila Crane), John Gavin (as Sam Loomis), Martin Balsam (as Detective Arbogast), John McIntire (as Sheriff Chambers), Janet Leigh (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; "as Marion Crane"), Mort Mills (as the Highway Patrol Officer), and Patricia Hitchcock (the director's daughter, in a small role) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. the poster would be very good, except that there is black paint over the writing area at the bottom of the poster (holding the poster to the light, you can see that this area read "SUITABLE FOR ADULTS ONLY", so perhaps this poster was used somewhere where they did not restrict admission! Note that there is light ink transfer in the top black area of the poster caused by the poster being folded too quickly after printing. But the black background in the top of the poster is the original printed background, and it has not been altered, as the bottom horizontal area was "R" rating ink pad stamp in the upper left yellow background; very minor creases along the foldlines; a few pairs of staple holes around the edges of the poster; Looking at the painted over area at the bottom of the area, my best guess is that the paint would be very difficult to remove, so please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept that it has this unusual defect!
