Date Sold 12/14/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) James M. Barrie's Peter Pan, the 1924 Herbert Brenon & Roy Pomeroy silent juvenile fantasy pirate adventure thriller ("The story of the boy who would not grow up."; "Peter Pan is the little boy who wouldn't grow up. If you want to visit him take the second turn to the right and go straight on 'till morning. There, in the Never Never Land, you will find him with the Fairies, the Indians, the Pirates and everything dear to the heart of a boy."; based on the classic play by J.M. Barrie; the first of many movie versions; about a boy who never grew up and who took runaway boys to a "Never Land") starring Betty Bronson (in the title role as Peter Pan; in her second credited movie role; thanks to Barrie's contract, the author had star approval, and after nine months he selected then-unknown Bronson!), Mary Brian (as Wendy), Jack Murphy, Philippe De Lacy, Virginia Brown Faire (as Tinker Bell), Ernest Torrence (as Captain James Hook), Edward Kipling (as Smee), and Anna May Wong (as Tiger Lilly). Note that because Peter Pan was a boy who never aged, he was always played by adult females of small stature, including in this movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1924 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We auctioned a one-sheet in 1994, a lobby card in 2000, and another lobby card in 2014, and that is all we have had from this movie until we received this great lobby card! Note that because Peter Pan was played by Betty Bronson (it was already a tradition to have a girl play Peter Pan), that meant that this "kiss" scene was between two women, which might have something to do with the looks on both women's faces! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The card has a 1 1/2" tear in the bottom border that extends through the "P" of "Paramount", and there is a small tear extending to the right of the main tear, but there is no paper loss in that area. There is a tack hole in each corner and some tiny brown stains in the center of the bottom border. Otherwise, the card is in really nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
