An Unfolded Australian Commercial Poster (made to be sold directly to the public; measures 20" x 30" [51 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) You Don't Have to Be A Queenie to Get AIDS, the 1980s Australian poster ("A man has sex with someone who has AIDS. He goes back to his wife, who gets AIDS from him. They all get very, very sick. The End"; "An AIDS story"; "You can't cure AIDS, you can only be careful! Use a Condom") created by Redback Graphix in Sydney to educate people about the consequences of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) which causes AIDS (Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome) and how to protect themselves from the disease. Note that when AIDS gripped the world in 1981, local authorities, healthcare providers and governments quickly created health posters as a way to inform people about the new disease. These public health campaigns continue to this day, and the posters show the different tactics, images (some quite provocative) and messages used by various countries and health agencies in their attempts to educate people about the AIDS/HIV threat. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
