Your love!"; "This fine emotional drama dares to uncover the unashamed yearnings of today's generation"; "There are two kinds of dreams... one can come true... There are two kinds of sex... one comes with love! There are two kinds of life... one is real!"; "Hear Earl Grant sing 'Imitation of Life'"; "Fannie Hurst's best-selling novel of today's tormented generation!"; written by Fannie Hurst and "Produced by Ross Hunter") starring Lana Turner, John Gavin, Sandra Dee, Dan O'Herlihy ("as David Edwards"), Susan Kohner (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as the teenage Sarah Jane, who is black, but is light-skinned enough that she can "pass for white"; actually, she was of Mexican and Czechoslovakian descent, and she made just a few more movies and then retired in 1964), Robert Alda, Juanita Moore (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Mahalia Jackson ("singing 'Trouble of the World'"), Troy Donahue, and Than Wyenn. Some people might disagree with my describing this movie as "classic", but I think it is hard to argue that this is one of the finest of its type of movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Reynold Brown Important Added Info: Note that this is a military one-sheet. Military one-sheets were printed at the same time as the regular U.S. one-sheets when the movie was first released. They were made to be used on U.S. military installations. Sometimes the poster has small writing at the bottom that says "For Distribution and Use at U.S. Military Establishments Only", and sometimes they just have "Litho U.S.A." in small letters in the lower right. This is one of the posters that says "Litho U.S.A.". Note that this poster came from a man who worked for Universal Studios in the 1960s and 1970s. He received many posters as samples, and that meant that they were in wonderful unused condition, and also he received several rare advance posters not commonly seen (some of the posters he had have never been seen before, and it is possible that they were promotional samples that were never distributed outside the studio, and it is possible the copy offered here is the only surviving copy!). eMoviePoster has sold many posters from this man's collection, and collectors have paid a premium to purchase them (both because of the condition and the rarity of some of the posters).
