Weird Fantasy is a pre-code fantasy science fiction (sci-fi) anthology comic that was part of the EC Comics (E.C. Comics) line in the early 1950s. This comic was published by Bill Gaines (William Gaines) through his company, EC Comics (E.C. Comics), which he inherited from his father in 1947. The bi-monthly comic replaced romance comic "A Moon, A Girl... Romance" with the May 1950 issue. Although the title and format change took effect with issue 13, Bill Gaines and Al Feldstein decided not to restart the numbering in order to save money on second class postage. The Post Office took note, and starting with issue #6, all the issues were numbered correctly. Because of this, Weird Fantasy #13 could refer to either the May 1950 issue or the actual 13th issue of the title, published in 1952. The same confusion exists for issues #14-17, #17 being the last issue published before EC reset the numbering. This was one of two EC science fiction comic titles published by Bill Gaines (later publisher of Mad Magazine). The other was Weird Science. They did not sell nearly as well as the horror titles, but Gaines and Feldstein loved science fiction, and they stuck by these titles, although when sales declined, they combined them into a single title called "Weird Science-Fantasy", which then further changed to "Incredible Science Fiction". Since the ending of publication, all of the EC comics have been reprinted many, many times, in many formats, and there have been several movies and TV series based on them!

Please note that we don't use a "comic guide" grading system, and OUR grading scale is completely different from standard comic book grading. Our "very good" is completely different from a comic book graded "very good". Note that this comic book will be sent to the winning bidder in a brand new Mylite4 protective sleeve and a full-back 100% acid-free backing board.

Note: We have 19 images of this comic book, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 19 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 9.

Note that due to the greater interest in this comic we have pictured EVERY single page of this comic, which means that you can see EVERY defect the comic has, AND get a good sense of its condition. While we gave the comic an overall condition grade (and sometimes describe the defects in words) please rely on the actual images of the comic to help you decide what YOU think its condition is, and then bid or not bid based on what you are seeing in the images. And if you have ANY doubt as to what the condition of the comic is, or whether you want it in the condition it is is, then please do not bid, as we do not want any retracted bids or returns if at all possible. If in doubt, do not bid!.

Condition: good, with old restoration. The cover had small tears in the center of the top border and someone put a piece of tape on the back of that area to "restore" it, and the tape bled through to the front.
